Vela Przina is the most popular beach on the island of Korcula, located on the outskirts of the town of Lumbarda. It is a sand beach, located on the south-eastern side of the island of Korcula, overlooking the open sea and the archipelago of the Lastovo island. Vela Przina beach is surrounded by vineyards of is shielded from northern and western winds. During the tourist season, this beach is crowded, mainly with families with small children, and young people who are looking for fun because there is a beach bar on the beach, it is possible to rent lounge chairs and umbrellas and play volley-ball. Even though the beach can be crowded in the summer months, the sea is always perfectly clear because the beach is faced towards the open sea, and strong currents bring fresh and clean water daily. The sand of the beach is also very clean, because in the winter season there are very strong southern winds with large waves that wash upon the beach and keep it clean. There is a large parking space near the beach where you can park your car for a reasonable price.
Pupnatska Luka is one of many beautiful, well protected coves on the southern coast of the island of Korcula. The nearest coastal settlement is Zavalatica to the west. It is easily accessible by newly built road from Pupnat, an old place in the interior of the island of Korcula, which is located 5 kilometers north-east from Pupnatska Luka. Pupnat is located 12 km far from the town of Korcula and 25 km from Vela Luka. "Pupnatska Luka" translated from Croatian means "The port of Pupnat". Pupnatska Luka is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Korcula, surrounded by crystal clear sea, lush Mediterranean vegetation and with springs of fresh water, that offer refreshment even in the hottest summer days. There is a large parking above the beach, a toilette, two small restaurants/beach bars where it is possible to have a refreshing drink and a meal in the shade, and the possibility of renting kayaks, lounge chairs and sunshades. The beach overlooks the archipelago of Lastovo to the south, and it is protected as a natural landscape under Croatian law, with no plans for any kind of construction. Pupnatska Luka is one of the most popular beaches on the island of Korcula, but thanks to its remote location, it is possible to find a spot of your own even in the high summer season.
Bilin Zal is another sandy beach located in the area of Lumbarda. It is smaller than Vela Przina, and closer to the centre of Lumbarda. Bilin Zal is located on the north-eastern part of the island of Korcula, looking towards the peninsula of Peljesac and "Skoji" islets, an archipelago of around 20 island located between Lumbarda and the town of Korcula. Bilin Zal is the favourite beach of the local people, especially of those with small children, because sand and very shallow entrance to the sea make this beach perfect for families with small children. Part of the beach is in concrete slabs, where there is a restaurant and a coffee bar where one can take a refreshment drink or try some of local food specialities. The beach is connected by a bus service with Lumbarda and the town of Korcula, and because of this the beach is very crowded during the summer season. Tatinja beach is another sandy beach in the area of Lumbarda. It is a sandy beach, located just few minutes to the east from the centre of Lumbarda. It is located in Tatinja bay, where there is also a stone pier. There are several restaurants and pizzerias there and several cafe bars. The beach overlooks peninsula Peljesac and islets Vrnik and Gubavac.
Istruga beach is a small sand beach located in Istruga bay, on the southern side of the island of Korcula. The bay is around 600 meters long and 150 meters wide, and is located close to the town of Smokvica in the interior of the island and the holiday resort Brna, which is located in the nearby bay of Brna (500 metres from Istruga). In the bay of Istruga there is a small restaurant, small sports and recreational centre with two tennis courts all surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation. This is truly a special place. But the most special thing about Istruga bays is it's 6 metres thick sediments of "peloid" - dark sea mud which is created by sedimentation of organic and inorganic substances brought by river and sea waters and has great therapeutic value.
